On September 28, 2017 the 12,726 SF church facility located at 4481 Estrella Avenue in San Diego sold for $1.8 million. The seller, Universal church, was represented by Thomas Riley of Mission Realty Company. The Buyer, America’s Finest Charter School (AFCS), was represented by Peter Wright of QFC Real Estate. The buyer plans to convert the church to a charter high school with expected occupancy to be first quarter of 2018. Wright worked closely with AFCS throughout escrow and successfully identified a temporary holdover location with E occupancy in downtown San Diego to handle the overlap of the four month construction period. He also helped secure the contractor, JacobDean Construction, to complete the approximate $800k build out. The church was vacant for approximately one year, had some deferred maintenance and has a cell tower in the steeple.
